Ornithology is the jazzy instrumental moniker of Shaan Chhadva aka SCayos who wanted to be an ornithologist when he was younger. Focusing instead on music, this passion project continues to value the love of bird watching and the importance of chasing your childhood dreams, whatever they may be. After a series of strong EPs & an LP alongside Oatmello, as well as remixes of Chet Baker classics, Ornithology took the stage for the first time in Los Angeles and recorded a 20+ minute jazz set. Featuring a drummer, a bassist, and a trumpet player, Ornithology was comfortable on the keys. Going viral through social media and leading to significant traction on DSPs, a second show was scheduled and recorded. Performing to a sold out crowd, this quartet (Ornithology, Ian Ewing, Chris Mazuera, and Ben Dailor) took to the studio to record original material, with plans to release both EPs (studio and live) simultaneously, just in time for Ornithology's third show in September of 2025.
